Hello There! So Sorry it’s been a while! I’ve been swamped with working + life but I’m trying to post a little more often than usual! So If you know me you’ve probably heard me talk about Midi Dresses and Skirts fairly often. There was one skirt in Particular… It was tulle, blush, midi, with appliqué flowers. What more do you want? It took everything in me not to purchase this beautiful skirt from Anthropologie, because I truly didn’t need it. But once I saw that skirt I was just trying to find the perfect midi skirt or dress that would be reasonable for a college student to wear. I have been seriously hunting for a good Midi piece since I was in New Orleans for Easter Weekend… which has been a while. You know when you have an image in your head of what you’re looking for and just can’t seem to find it? Yeah, same. Should I just start making my own clothes? Probably, but probably not. I wish. Anyway, It was a struggle. Still is, I mean where is my perfect floral midi skirt that is cute but casual and most importantly flattering? Ugh.
Well I found my midi piece! It wasn’t like what I had been picturing much at all, but this dress at J. Crew took me by surprise and caught my eye! It is amazing and probably my new favorite dress. I wasn’t looking for something eyelet, and especially black, but it’s so great! I love that it can be dressed up or down so easily, So I thought I would show y’all how I would do both!
For a more Casual Look I threw on my favorite Chambray Shirt, my trusty tote, and my cutest sunnies! I think this outfit would be perfect for a day out and about running errands and such! It’s super comfy and I feel like I’ll be wearing this dress casually all the time! I think a chambray is a great way to dress down any outfit and I’m always cold so it’s nice to have something warmer on hand. Mine is from Gap a few years ago, but this one is super similar. I also love this one, this one, and this one! This dress also looks great with any fun sandals but I added my favorite ones from Target! It would also look adorable with these, these, these, or these. My Sunnies are Free People and they are so fun! I think they add a great retro vibe to any outfit.
To dress this dress up I kept it pretty simple and let the dress do most of the talking. I added my new favorite hoops- Can we just take a moment. Ugh. I love them so much. And then I added my new Dolce Vita Heels (Read all about them Here) and I think they did a great job dressing up the outfit. I would also add a cute neutral clutch and maybe a necklace if hoops or statement earrings aren’t your thing. I’ll probably also be wearing this with some of my Bright Kendra Scotts.
Here are some other midi pieces I am loving!
Have a great weekend and a great 4th of July! Thanks for reading!
